Reading the quotation

Russell 2000 Index is read as an index level. Compare its percentage movement over the same period with other benchmarks; different starting levels do not measure the relative size or value of their markets.

Russell 2000 is expressed in index points. A higher level represents an increase in the index, while a lower level represents a decrease. A point change and a percentage change describe different quantities.

Before trading

When following Russell 2000, keep the observation time and selected chart interval consistent. An index level is distinct from the price and order size of a contract linked to that index.
